Mission Statement

Foundation Baptist College exists to prepare future pastors for ministry and strengthen members of local churches.

Institutional Objectives

When our students graduate, they should be capable of:

  • Reading —read Scripture and enduring texts with understanding and enjoyment.
  • Growing —cultivate a heart demeanour that is genuinely humble and quick to learn.
  • Thinking —reason through hard questions, exercising critical thinking skills from a broad knowledge base.
  • Speaking —speak and write truth cogently, truthfully, and persuasively.
  • Navigating —practically live out authentic Christianity in a diverse, pluralistic context.
  • Going —be globally aware and prepared to transcend cultural differences to fulfill the Great Commission.

Admission Standards

All applicants are evaluated on the following bases:
  • A credible, personal profession of faith (written). The college is willing to consider students who are uncertain or seeking to come to clarity about their faith on two further bases: (1) they demonstrate that they are teachable and truly searching, and (2) they agree to attend on a probationary basis.
  • An explanation of the student’s hopes or goals for future ministry (written).
  • A personal interview, verifying that the student’s expectations are compatible with the programs offered.
  • A pastoral recommendation from a spiritual leader who knows them well and can testify to their character.
  • A high-school transcript, homeschool portfolio, GED or diploma, or proof of post-secondary studies. The college accommodates home school students as long as they can demonstrate educational work that is comparable to provincial standards. In questionable cases, students will be asked to submit a 1,000 word essay.
  • On submission of these requirements, the application is evaluated by the president and faculty. Students are notified of their acceptance in writing.
  • Foundation Baptist College does not discriminate based on race, color, age, sex, national or ethnic origin, disability, veteran status, or, for married students, medical needs arising from pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
